Cancer PALS Foundation

Programs & Services

Cancer PALS programs focus on prevention, advocacy, lifestyle support, and compassionate services for people impacted by cancer.

Programs & Services

Cancer PALS Foundation supports people impacted by cancer through prevention, advocacy, lifestyle education, and compassionate community connection. Our programs are designed to reduce isolation, improve quality of life, and connect patients, survivors, caregivers, and families with practical support and trusted resources.

Our services may grow over time as volunteer capacity, funding, partnerships, and community needs evolve.

Our four pillars

Prevention

Prevention begins with education and awareness. Cancer PALS supports community efforts that help people understand cancer risks, screening recommendations, healthy habits, and the role of movement, nutrition, and tobacco prevention in reducing cancer burden.

Prevention work may include:

  • Community education events
  • School and youth outreach
  • Screening awareness campaigns
  • Healthy lifestyle education
  • Public health awareness initiatives
  • Speaking engagements and educational materials

Advocacy

Cancer often creates barriers that are hard to navigate alone. Cancer PALS helps patients, survivors, and caregivers find information, resources, and community connections that may support access to care and quality of life.

Advocacy work may include:

  • Resource navigation
  • Connection to community partners
  • Survivorship resources
  • Caregiver support information
  • Help identifying local services
  • Education around rights, benefits, and support options

Lifestyle

Lifestyle support focuses on whole-person wellness during and after the cancer journey. Cancer PALS promotes practical, compassionate resources that support physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Lifestyle support may include:

  • Nutrition education
  • Movement and physical activity initiatives
  • Wellness-focused events
  • Survivorship rehabilitation connections
  • Emotional wellness resources
  • Integrative and supportive care partnerships

Support

Support is at the heart of Cancer PALS. We help create meaningful human connection for patients, survivors, caregivers, and families who may feel isolated or overwhelmed.

Support services may include:

  • Peer mentorship
  • Survivor support
  • Caregiver encouragement
  • Volunteer coordination
  • Resource referrals
  • Direct assistance when funding and resources are available
  • Quality-of-life support services

Core program areas

Prevention & education outreach

Cancer PALS shares prevention and wellness information through community events, classes, speaking opportunities, social media education, podcasts, and public awareness campaigns.

Our goal is to make cancer prevention and early detection information easier to understand and easier to access.

Survivor and caregiver support

Cancer affects more than the person diagnosed. Survivors, caregivers, and families often need emotional support, community connection, and help finding practical resources.

Cancer PALS works to support quality of life through mentorship, resource navigation, caregiver support efforts, and compassionate volunteer connection.

Mentorship and peer connection

The Cancer PALS Mentor Program is designed to offer encouragement, shared understanding, and emotional support from trained mentors with lived or professional experience.

Mentorship is not a substitute for medical care, counseling, legal advice, or crisis services. It is a compassionate connection meant to reduce isolation and encourage hope.

Resource navigation and community referrals

Cancer PALS collaborates with healthcare organizations, nonprofits, businesses, service providers, faith communities, and local leaders to help connect people with supportive resources.

These connections may include wellness services, counseling resources, food and nutrition support, transportation resources, legal or financial assistance resources, support groups, and other community-based services.

Events and fundraising

Community events help Cancer PALS raise awareness, build connection, fund supportive services, and bring people together around prevention, advocacy, lifestyle, and support.

Events may include wellness activities, fundraising events, educational programs, survivor-centered gatherings, and special community projects.
